Jeff Karlsson won for the first time on the West Florida Golf Tour Monday afternoon at the very immaculate Founders Club. His winning score of (-1) 71 was matched by only England's Tom Gamble on a day that saw some very high scores due to strong winds and firm greens. Karlsson used a back nine (-4) to close the gap and earn a spot in the playoff. A playoff that he won on the third extra hole when he two putted for birdie on the par 5 10th. This marked the second playoff loss this year at the Founders Club for Gamble who continues to knock on the door!
We had several Amateurs play well on Monday with four of them finishing in the money in the Professional Division. The low am however went to 15 year Charles Wang who finished at (E) 72. |
